Sanjay Leela Bhansali once confessed that he was obsessed with Madhuri Dixit and waited at her door for 2.5 years
Sanjay Leela Bhansali worked with Madhuri Dixit for the film in 2002: Devdas, and since then, the filmmaker has been absolutely impressed by the actress’s beauty. He admired her immensely and, in short, was so obsessed with her that he left no stone unturned to convince her to appear in two of his films: Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam And Khamoshi – The Musical. Earlier, in one of his interviews with PTI, Sanjay had expressed his dissatisfaction over not being able to convince the actress for these two films and revealed:
“In each of my films, right from Khamoshi, I wanted to direct Madhuri. I’m obsessed with her. No other director is as obsessed with Madhuri as I am. During Khamoshi, I waited at her door for two and a half years to ask her to read the script; but I couldn’t get through to her. So I made the film without her. During Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, I tried to capture Madhuri but I couldn’t. Then I made sure she was there in Devdas.”

Madhuri was supposed to be a part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next, The Constitution

The plot of the highly anticipated film revolves around the lives of courtesans. However, did you know that Sanjay initially considered Madhuri Dixit to be a part of the film? Unfortunately, the plan stalled because neither the actress nor the filmmaker agreed on the creative aspects of the script.

When Sanjay Leela Bhansali was told that the shooting was for Devdas was bewitched
Devdas was undoubtedly one of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s most classic films. In fact, the film boasted of a glorious star cast with star actors like Madhuri Dixit, Aishwarya Rai, Shah Rukh Khan, Kirron Kher, Dina Pathak and others. It was the grandeur of the filming sets that attracted attention. Unfortunately, the film went over budget and in fact part of the film set even caught fire. In one of his older interviews, Sanjay Leela Bhansali revealed that people thought the project itself was jinxed and asked him to abandon it.
