RCB vs GT: ‘Don’t Repeat Mistakes’ – Shubman Gill Hits Out at His Players After RCB Loss – CricketAddictor

The Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans (GT) locked horns with the Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the 52nd match of the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) on Saturday, May 4, at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium (RCB). in Bengaluru.

Gujarat Titans were invited to bat first in the match after losing the toss and failed miserably in the powerplay. Shahrukh Khan, David Miller and Rahul Tewatia contributed with runs in the 30s as GT put 147 runs on the board. While defending the target, the bowlers were guided to clean balls by Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli, but GT made a magnificent comeback with six quick runs. However, the total was not enough to defend and RCB won the game by 4 wickets.

After the match, Shubman Gill said that the score of around 170-180 would have been a challenge for RCB and blamed the team’s poor performance in the powerplays for the defeat. Shubman Gill said:

“It all depends on the wicket, you see the first few overs. You get an idea and play with it. I think 170-180 on that wicket would have been a good total. I think the way we fought in the power play and the way we bowled in the power play made the difference.”

Shubman Gill added that they will start from scratch in the next game and take positive experiences from the game against RCB. He also urged his players not to repeat their mistakes. Shubman Gill explained:

“We would have an extra bowling option (had we not lost early wickets). That’s never easy. It’s important for us to start from scratch (in the next game), we have to keep going. Lots of positives we can take from this game, must make sure we don’t repeat our mistakes. From now on it’s about winning everything we can.
