RCB vs CSK: ‘MS Dhoni Can’t Say I Have to Take Care of My Knee’ – Irfan Pathan Sends a Blunt Message to the CSK Legend

Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan made a huge statement about MS Dhoni ahead of the match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. He explained that the goalkeeper-batsman must bat He must give up the order and must forget about his knee injury for the team.

One of the biggest clashes in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will take place between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Saturday (May 18). It will effectively be an eliminator as the winner of the game will receive the playoff spot.

Chennai Super Kings need to win the match to qualify while Royal Challengers Bengaluru need to win the match by 18 runs or chase the target within 18 overs. It could also be the last game for MS Dhoni in his career and he would be in the spotlight when the two teams take the field.

MS Dhoni has won the Chennai Super Kings job. He is battling a knee problem that does not allow him to run quickly between wickets. However, he made full use of the opportunity as he made a big impact on the team in all the deliveries he faced.

Many fans and pundits have expressed a desire to see the goalkeeper-batsman higher up the order. But with MS Dhoni likely to play his last game, there is a chance that he could move up the order and help his team in the extremely crucial match for the tournament.

However, Irfan Pathan didn’t make it easy for MS Dhoni and said that the wicket-keeper-batsman has to bear some pain and take solid responsibility for his team. He believes he can change the game if the batsman comes to bat at the right time. Speaking to Star Sports, he explained:

“Maybe you will see MS Dhoni move up the order against RCB, 1 or 2 or maybe 3 in the order because this is a crucial time. This is not the time to say, ‘I need to take care of my knee,’ not the time to take things lightly. This is the end of the deal now, and if you lose here, and by a big margin, then you’re out of the tournament.

“MS Dhoni has to endure some pain and has to take solid responsibility for his team which he has taken over the last decade or so. This season he came to bat a little late and if he comes at the right time then he will bat for at least 3 overs.”

Irfan Pathan also spoke about the importance of momentum in the league. He believes that if Royal Challengers Bengaluru reach the playoffs, they will be difficult to stop and the other three teams will be afraid of them. He added:

“The most dangerous thing is the momentum in the IPL. If any team has momentum, we have seen KKR and MI do it in the past – they won two games in a row after a slow start and then became champions. Things like that happen.” And when you have the momentum, every team is afraid of you.

“If RCB reaches the playoffs, the other three teams in the playoffs – KKR, RR and SRH – will play at the back against RCB. Because they didn’t see defeat and found the right formula that they lacked at the beginning of the season.”

RCB is going through a great phase in the league. After only getting 1 win in their 8 games, they have won 5 overall. They would like to get into the playoffs.
