QVC Signs Multi-year Contract Extensions with SES in Germany and Great Britain

The global video commerce leader is expanding its long-standing partnership to continue broadcasting multiple HD and SD channels from SES’s key video regions at 19.2 degrees East and 28.2/28.5 degrees East

LUXEMBOURG – Home shoppers across Germany, Austria and Switzerland, as well as the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland, will continue to enjoy a comprehensive, high-quality in-home shopping experience as QVC Germany and QVC UK continue their partnerships with SES in the multi-sector have extended annual contracts.

For QVC Germany, the expansion secures capacity for QVC HD, QVC2 HD and QVC Style HD channels in SES’s best neighborhood on 19.2 degrees East. For QVC UK, the expansion secures capacity across the 28.2/28.5 degrees East SES satellites for QVC HD, QVC Style HD, QVC Beauty and QVC Extra, as well as ground services including uplinking, encoding and monitoring.

QVC is a global leader in video commerce (vCommerce), spanning video-driven shopping across linear television, e-commerce websites, digital streaming and social platforms. Since the 1990s, QVC has used SES’s satellites to broadcast its vCommerce channels to viewers in markets around the world.
