Prince William offered a quick update on Kate Middleton in the midst of her battle with cancer.
The Prince of Wales attended the grand opening of James Place Newcastle in Tyne, England, on Tuesday, where some people asked about Kate and the children. “Everything is going well,” the future king of England replied, before praising one of the women’s badges on her shirt.
William also thanked the women, draped in British flags, for visiting the charity’s new center, which will provide support to men in the region experiencing a suicide crisis.
The update comes more than a month after the Princess of Wales announced on March 22 that she was with a diagnosis of cancer. She did not provide any information about the form of the cancer. Kate revealed that after her abdominal surgery the procedure was thought to be non-cancerous, but tests carried out after the operation showed that doctors had “detected cancer”. She added: “My medical team therefore advised me to undergo a course of treatment preventive chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of this treatment.
William and Kate, who have three children together – Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 6 – on Monday celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary. A black and white throwback photo of the couple on their wedding day was posted on the royal couple’s Instagram account.
Due to Kate’s health concerns, William withdrew from public appearances but returned for the first time earlier this month when he attended two nights in west London and Surrey. He first visited a food redistribution charity, where a volunteer gave him cards for Kate earlier this month has published a new portrait in honor of her son Louis’ 6th birthday. Photos showed William looked visibly moved through the gestures.
Not long after these visits, William set out and visited several boys at St. Michael’s Church of England High School near Birmingham, England, where he appeared to be in good spirits as he gave the group a “Dad joke.”
While Kate continues to recover and stay out of the spotlight, King Charles stepped out with Queen Camilla on Tuesday his first official public event since Buckingham Palace announced in February that he too was Fight against cancer. He continues to be treated for the unknown cancer.
