“You try to find that joke, that energy, and you can feel it when you’re in it. You’re like, ‘Oh yeah, this is happening, this is working,'” DeLoach, 44, said exclusively Us weekly of her connection with Walker, also 44, while promoting her latest secret, Curious Caterer: foiled plans. “Andrew and I just had that from the start. We always say we must have known each other in other lives because we felt like we met and we were friends our whole lives.”
She recalled that she “immediately” found a “real friendship” with her counterpart after working on her first Hallmark project, in 2016 A dream of Christmas.
Once the two joined forces for the first time Curious caterer mystery DeLoach said they feel consistent with a theatrical release in 2022. In the franchise, DeLoach plays caterer and amateur detective Goldy Berry and Walker plays Detective Tom Schultz.

However, in 2023 Curious Caterer: Fatal Vowsshe felt that the chemistry was becoming more and more platonic and the actors were working to create something new Thwarted plans Episode premiering Friday, April 26th.
“I said, ‘Look, you and I have worked together so much, and I feel like we gave in a little bit in the last film,'” she recalls. “And a lot of that was the dialogue and we have to work on correcting that in the script. And that’s what we did.”
DeLoach recalled the dialogue in the third part being “more buddy, buddy, boyfriend, boyfriend” rather than the heat and passion they wanted for Goldy and Tom.
Walker told exclusively Us that DeLoach “really took the bull by the horns” and informed him that fans thought Tom and Goldy were giving off “brother-sister vibes.” When the co-stars heard this, they decided to “change that” and up their game.
This time, the actors went through the script and “removed any dialogue that felt more like friendship and replaced it with romantic dialogue.”
In Thwarted plansDeLoach said the team “really talked more than ever about embarking on this romance.” She teased that Goldy is “at a point where she’s open to finding love,” while Tom is because of his The family history, which is examined in the new film, has “always been so reserved”.

“It’s definitely a different kind of love than [Goldy] ever felt with her [ex-husband], and it’s a deeper kind of love,” DeLoach revealed. “She makes the decision to fall in love 1714177025. … When you fall in love later in life, especially after you’re married, there’s this aspect of, “Wow, I have so much agency in this.” I don’t have to fall in love. I don’t have to get married. It just happens to me and I have no control over these feelings that I have.’”
Thwarted plans follows Goldy and Tom as they try to solve a murder while trapped in Hyde Castle during a snowstorm. While they’re stuck in the castle – and dressed in medieval costumes to celebrate the lavish charity event – Goldy and Tom will also grow closer romantically.
The film culminates in the couple’s highly anticipated kiss, which DeLoach narrated Us She pushed for it after the characters didn’t smooch in the third film.
“Andrew and I were sitting there and we were sitting with the director Paul and we really felt like they didn’t need to talk anymore. They talked so much,” the actress explained. “You were essentially locked in a castle with a murderer. It’s a high-stakes episode and we feel strongly that we need to take the talking out of this episode and get to what they’ve been wanting to do all night, which is kissing.”
DeLoach added: “We really felt like we needed something[ed] just get started. And the audience needs to feel like they don’t have to hear her speak for another page and a half.” She teased that fans will be happy when they see it, emphasizing that it’s “the right decision” as it is goes out.
Walker teased, “The moment Nikki and I kind of get it on, we’re so comfortable with each other and she’s beautiful, so it’s easy to fall for that attraction to her.” She’s a great leading lady to be with can work together continuously. I am in awe of her. She’s an incredible person.”
