Nick Viall and Natalie Joy Talk ‘Nightmare’ Honeymoon Experiences

Although Nick Viall And Natalie Joy had the “most magical” Wedding, their honeymoon wasn’t exactly what dreams are made of. The newlyweds had brought their three-month-old daughter River Rose and Natalie’s mother Lisa Stephens with them on vacation, and things didn’t quite go according to plan.

On Thursday’s episode of Nick’s The Viall Files In the podcast, the couple described their special wedding day and the chaos that followed as they attempted to travel to Turks and Caicos.

After a whirlwind wedding weekend, the family flew into the country early in the morning, but were stopped at customs when the officer saw that a page of Natalie’s passport had been torn out.

“I used this pass. I never had a problem. I don’t know what’s going on,” Natalie shared.

While the rest of the family was able to enter the country, Natalie was unable to, and so they were forced to turn around and take the next flight back to America.

“That was really a moment where we, Nick and I, had River in our arms and had to hold him together for our daughter,” Natalie reflected. “But it challenged us as husband and wife. It was like the first thing we had to overcome as husband and wife.”

The Bachelor Nation alum spoke about his goal of being calm for his “sobby” wife, saying, “I seem calm, but I’m beaming with fear. I say to myself, ‘You’ve been on the run for two days.’ Job, time to get up and be a husband.’”

The couple shared that they “went for it” when planning their honeymoon and spent more money than they would have liked on the non-refundable getaway.

They then had to stand at the airport for six hours waiting for their next flight as their little daughter became increasingly restless.

After six hours, her flight was canceled and the airline had to make a special exception to allow Natalie to enter the country for one night to stay in a hotel room.

“It just puts everything into perspective because at the end of the day, we have to fucking take care of our daughter, we have to take care of each other,” Nick said. “And as shitty as it was, it was the first moment we were a family and experienced adversity.”

Natalie added that she and her mother both saw Nick emerge and acknowledged that he was the calm in the storm.

“This won’t be the most difficult challenge of our lives or our relationship,” Nick noted.

As to whether they’re planning on repeating their honeymoon, Nick added: “That’s the hope.”

“We’re thinking about Puerto Rico because I don’t know if we’ll have enough time to fix Natalie’s passport,” he shared.

The married couple the knot tied last weekend at Natalie’s sister’s farm in Savannah, Georgia, with friends and family in attendance.
