Meet Honda’s New E:NP2 and E:NS2 Electric Crossovers for China

The debut of Honda’s new youth-focused Ye sub-brand and its trio of concepts was perhaps the most interesting Honda-related news at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, but the EV updates didn’t stop there. e:NP2 and e:NS2 were originally unveiled in Shanghai a year ago, albeit in concept form. The production versions shown in Beijing look almost identical to the studies with some toned down features. Changes include the more conventional LED graphics, larger mirror caps and slightly smaller wheels.

Except for the different bumpers and unique lighting units at either end, the crossovers share most of their bodywork. The most important difference, however, is that the e:NP2 comes from GAC Honda, while the e:NS2 is a product of the Dongfeng Honda joint venture.

The electric vehicles are similar in size to the Tesla Model Y: They are 4,788 mm (188.5 inches) long, 1,838 mm (72.4 inches) wide and 1,570 mm (61.8 inches) high, with a wheelbase of 2,735 mm (107.7 inches).

Inside, there’s a large head-up display and a 12.8-inch infotainment display with China-specific software and the latest connectivity advances. There is also an intelligent heating system that minimizes power consumption and an aroma system that allows passengers to choose between different scents.

Honda E:NP2

The twin models are based on the e:N Architecture F framework. They are equipped with a 68.8 kWh battery from CATL and a single front-mounted electric motor with 201 hp (150 kW / 204 hp). Honda stated that the e:NP2 has a range of 545 km (339 miles) under CLTC standards and the e:NS2 is expected to have a similar range.

Production of the Honda e:NP2 is already underway, while the Honda e:NS2 will follow in June 2024. As for pricing, the e:NS2 costs between 159,800 and 179,800 yen depending on the model (equivalent to $22,100 to $24,900 at current exchange rates). the stocking.
