Mahindra XUV 3XO: Video Walkthrough of Mid and Top-end Variants

After several teasers, leaks and spy photos, Mahindra launched its much-awaited XUV 3XO. This new SUV in the XUV range will replace the existing Mahindra XUV 300. Measuring 3990mm in length, 1821mm in width and 1647mm in height, the XUV 3XO will compete in the sub-4m segment and compete with the Kia Sonet. Hyundai Venue, Nissan Magnite and Tata Nexon. Today we will look at the lower, mid and upper variants of this all-new SUV and see what it has to offer. The walkaround video was uploaded by popular YouTuber Gagan Choudhary. Now let’s look at the details of the car.

Top variant

The presenter begins the video with the car keys, typical Mahindra folding keys with lock/unlock and trunk unlock functions. The car’s daytime running lights are similar to what we have seen on larger Mahindra SUVs. The headlights are LED projector units along with a reflector-based LED setup for high beam.

The grille is finished in gloss black and features chrome elements reminiscent of the XUV 300. The front parking sensors, a new feature in the XUV 300, have been reduced from four to one. Mahindra has introduced Level 2 ADAS, which is based on inputs from a camera and radar. This is a first feature in this segment as competitors only offer Level 1 ADAS.

The side profile of the vehicle features 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. The presenter mentions that there are not many changes to the side profile and it looks quite similar to its predecessor, the XUV 300.

The most significant upgrade at the rear is the taillights. Following the industry trend, the XUV 3XO comes with connected LED taillights as standard. The interior of the car has been fundamentally upgraded. The dashboard layout of the 3XO closely resembles the Mahindra XUV 400 EV.

Key changes include premium soft-touch materials in several places, gloss elements on the steering wheel with improved buttons, a fully digital instrument cluster, blind vision monitoring, a seven-speaker sound system, an electronic parking brake, a 360-degree camera, a floating 10, 25-inch infotainment system and much more.

The moderator mentions that Android Auto and Apple CarPlay still need to be loaded into the infotainment system. The SUV also offers a wireless charger, driving modes, steering modes and dual-zone automatic climate control.

The biggest highlight in the interior of the XUV 3XO is the first panoramic sunroof in this segment, which the brand calls “Skyroof”. The competitors only offer a single-pane sunroof. The presenter mentions that the lower variants of the 3XO offer a much smaller single-pane sunroof.

He adds that the car misses out on ventilated and electrically adjustable seats. Regarding the second row, the host states that the 3XO offers plenty of space. Second-row amenities include multiple storage spaces, three adjustable headrests, AC vents, a Type-C charging port and a 12V power outlet.

The host says there has been no significant improvement compared to the XUV 300, but the boot space still feels inadequate. Some cars in the same segment offer much more trunk space. This space can be increased even further by folding down the rear seats, which can be split 60:40 as standard.

MX3 variant

After we have shown the top variant, the presenter gives us a tour of the MX3’s features. At the front, it has the same daytime running lights, but the headlights only have a single LED projector. Instead of light alloy rims, this variant rides on 16-inch steel rims. Since it is a lower variant, it lacks features like keyless entry with start/stop button, 360-degree camera, rear spoiler, rear wiper with washer and window defogger.

Mahindra XUV 3XO variants explained

The host mentions that this is the cheapest variant of the 3XO that has a sunroof. In contrast to the top variant, only a single-pane sunroof is available in this equipment. The interior features of this variant include a dual-dial instrument cluster with MID, cruise control, steering wheel-mounted multimedia controls, a 10.25-inch infotainment system, steering modes (Normal, Comfort, Sport) and a wireless charger.

AX5 variant

Compared to the MX3 variant, this equipment offers 16-inch alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, a windshield wiper with washer system and a windshield heater. However, the moderator does not talk about the interior of the AX5 variant. Prices for the XUV 3XO start at Rs. 7.49 Lakhs and go up to Rs. 15.49 Lakhs ex-showroom.

For the Mahindra liter TGDi turbo petrol engine with 130 hp and 250 Nm torque. All three engine options can be combined with a 6-speed manual transmission. The diesel engine can be equipped with a 6-speed AMT, and the gasoline engines can be paired with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
