Mahindra XUV 3XO MX1 and Tata Nexon Smart Base Variants in Comparison

After much back and forth, Mahindra Automotive has finally launched the XUV 3XO. The new model features a completely new front and rear design. It also has a lot of features. But how does it compete with the Tata Nexon? Especially if we compare the base variant of the Mahindra XUV 3XO with the base variant of the Nexon. Standard equipment includes six airbags and three-point seat belts for all passengers. It also features rear air vents and a 60:40 split rear seat. The entire interior looks very similar to the previous model. The two-tone coloring makes it look a little more airy.

The Nexon, on the other hand, also has a very simple interior design. The base Nexon Smart only gets a black interior. The car lacks an infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, touch-based HVAC controls, and many other amenities.

However, the base variant gets a semi-digital instrument cluster, manual air conditioning, a two-spoke steering wheel and three driving modes. Despite these features, the new Nexon’s interior might feel a little more cramped for taller people. However, the overall layout hardly looks more modern than that of the XUV 3XO.

It is only coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission and offers a mileage of 18.9 km/h. As for the price, the XUV 3XO MX1 variant is priced at Rs 7.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

It only comes with a 5-speed manual transmission and offers a mileage of 17.44 km/h. In terms of price, the Nexon is now Rs 66,000 more expensive than the XUV 3XO. The price is 8.15 lakh rupees. The Mahindra XUV 3XO may be a bit lacking in power, but it makes up for it in the torque department. Overall, both offer almost the same performance. So it’s a difficult decision and ultimately it comes down to the customer’s preferences.
