Lori Loughlin Talks Forgiveness and Perseverance After College Scandal

“Life is too short,” Lori Loughlin says – and after serving her prison sentence, the actress can understand the mantra well.

Five years after the college admissions scandal that thrust Loughlin and his colleague Felicity Huffman into the spotlight for unexpectedly wrong reasons, the Full house Alum is moving back into the spotlight and recently appeared in Co-Stars Jodie Sweetin And Andrea Barber‘S How rude, Tanneritos! In her interview for the magazine, Loughlin shares her perspective on overcoming challenges, a fitting topic for the Star Who spent almost two months in prison in 2020 after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud. She and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, were accused of paying $500,000 in bribes to get their two daughters accepted as crew team recruits at the University of Southern California, even though they never actually participated in the sport.

“Every day we come across different obstacles, but it all depends on how you approach things,” she tells the magazine. “For me it’s just about persevering, and as an actress I hear ‘no’ a lot, so I just have to be myself and persevere and try not to let any negativity in.”

The 59-year-old actress continues: “My advice is to just keep going. Everyone has good times and bad times. That’s life. I think you just have to pull yourself together. Nobody said life would be a walk in the park.” There is beauty in life, but there is also hardship in life.

The star, best known for her role as Aunt Becky on the hit ABC sitcom, also shares her take on forgiveness, telling the magazine: “Something happens to everyone. We have all been able to ask for forgiveness, but to ask for it, you also have to learn and know how to forgive.”

“No one is perfect, we all make mistakes,” she emphasizes. “I was always told to let things go. And I think for your own health you have to let things go because you can’t hold on to negativity. Life is too short.”

It appears Loughlin took her own advice when she recently made fun of herself parodies her scandal during a guest appearance in Curb your enthusiasm.

Meanwhile, Huffman, who spent less than two weeks in prison in October 2019 after recently pleading guilty to mail fraud and honest services mail fraud addressed her career after the scandal in an honest way.
