Kyle Richards’ Daughter Shockingly Reveals How She Found Out About the Split

When it came to her famous parents’ split, Alexia Umansky confirmed that they kept it real on reality TV.

It’s been almost a year since the news of Kyle Richards And Mauricio UmanskySeparation after 27 years of marriage broke in July 2023. As her 27-year-old daughter Alexia confirmed on Thursday Scrubbing with Becca Tilley & Tanya Rad On the podcast, Kyle and Mauricio’s four daughters found out about the split the same way fans across the country did – through a news article.

“The news of my parents’ separation came out before we had ever discussed it internally as a family,” she said. The next day cameras for Buy Beverly Hills – Mauricio’s real estate-focused reality TV series for Netflix – is here.

By this point, Alexia said, the sisters were tired of sweeping family matters under the rug.

“We just had a moment – we thought, ‘We need to start talking,'” she remembers. “And the cameras were supposed to be there anyway, so we just laid down. And that was in July, so a lot has changed since then, but now we talk about everything.”

Before their split made headlines, Alexia said she “felt things weren’t the same with her parents anymore” and was “putting everything together.” She noticed that her mother and father traveled more, were less affectionate with each other, had different schedules, and mismatched interests. “I realized they were no longer each other’s priority,” she explained, “and they just changed.”

When the news broke, the cameras not only captured these emotional family moments, but also opened the new season as the first episode began with Mauricio when meeting stepdaughter Farrah, 35, and daughters Alexia and Sophia, 24. Her youngest daughter Portia, 16, was not present.

“What was filmed was really like two of the four big conversations we had as a family,” Alexia said on the podcast. “We had a conversation when the news broke, but my sister Farrah wasn’t there.”

Alexia continued: “The next day when the cameras came, Farrah came and that was the first in-depth conversation we had as a family.” As she put it: “That was as real as it gets and as honest and open as can be, which is so crazy.”

Despite this stressful personal time for the family, it is her daughters who are Kyle Thanks for helping her with this.

“They’ve just been the most incredible source of support for me,” Richards previously told ET. “It’s funny because I’m the mom, but they give me advice and they’re just so smart and so together.”

“Of course, as a mother, I worry about her first,” she noted. “But they also really cared about me. Those were honestly some of my proudest moments as a mother, how they handled all of this.”
