Sunil Narine (71) and Phil Salt (75) put on a show with the bat right from the start and ensured they gave their team a brutal start. The duo scored 76 runs in the powerplay and put immense pressure on the opponents by smashing bowlers all over the park.
Both openers showed their best with the bat and hit brutal half-centuries, scoring 138 runs for the opening partnership. After they got out, Venkatesh Iyer (39*) played a brave hand with the bat and ensured his side’s momentum was maintained.
Andre Russell (24) and captain Shreyas Iyer (28) played stunning cameos with the bat as the home team fell behind by 250 runs. Based on the collective effort, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have posted the total number of runs on the board.
For the Punjab Kings, Arshdeep Singh was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of 2/45. Apart from him, skipper Sam Curran, Harshal Patel and Rahul Chahar picked up a wicket each with the ball at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

KKR vs PBKS IPL 2024 Match 42 â Punjab Kings Innings: Prabhsimran Singh, Jonny Bairstow and Shashank Singh set the stage on fire
The Punjab Kings came out armed with the bat in the chase. Prabhsimran Singh (54) and Jonny Bairstow added 93 runs with the bat for the opening partnership. What was impressive was that they scored all of their runs on the power play.
Rilee Rossouw (26) and Bairstow then caused more carnage with the bat and put the Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers under immense pressure. Bairstow (108*) bagged a brutal century and Shashank Singh (68*) supported him well as the Punjab Kings chased the target with eight balls to spare.
