Kim Zolciak Biermann tries to clear the air after raising alarms with a message suggesting an estranged husband Kroy Biermann‘s death.
“So it seems everyone in the world is talking about my post yesterday,” Zolciak-Biermann, 45, wrote on Warped Speed on Thursday, April 25. “Let’s be clear: At no time did I claim that Kroy was dead, nor did I do so. I’m alluding to that.”
Zolciak-Biermann cleared up the confusion, adding: “Actually, I used a picture of BOTH of us and said #QUIET – and honestly the end of my relationship was like a kind of death, so #QUIET. And the story surrounding it had nothing to do with Kroy’s death.”
The previous Real Housewives of Atlanta The star took to her Instagram Story on Tuesday, April 23, to share a black-and-white photo of her and Biermann, 38, writing, “#RIP,” and a link to an article commemorating the last one Celebrities who died in the year were added. She was probably paid to drive traffic to the website.
While defending the upload, Zolciak-Biermann emphasized: “And the story he linked to had nothing to do with Kroy’s death either.” The story was a tribute to many we lost last year. And yes, my relationship was lost too, so it seemed fitting.”
Zolciak-Biermann urged her followers to “get serious” after the backlash.
“Do you actually think if Kroy died – despite all the problems we’ve had – my first instinct would be to go to my Instagram and post #LinkInBio with his picture and #RIP attached?” she noted. “Everyone who knows me – including my lovely fans – knows it[s] that I had more tact, class and compassion.”
The reality star concluded: “The moral of the story is that people need to learn to read and not jump to conclusions. To reiterate: Kroy is alive and well and he did NOT die, and I never said he died. And that’s that.”
In May 2023, it was announced that Zolciak-Biermann and Biermann had filed for divorce after more than a decade of marriage. Two months later, the two filed for divorce, but their reconciliation was short-lived. Biermann filed another lawsuit in August 2023, claiming that the couple’s marriage was “irretrievably broken.”
“People knew it wouldn’t last,” a source said exclusively Us weekly at the time about the duo’s brief reunion and noted that their breakup was “all about arguments and finances.”
Zolciak-Biermann and Biermann, who tied the knot in 2011, share sons Kroy “KJ” Jr., 13, and Kash, 12, and twins Kaia and Kane, 10. Biermann also adopted Zolciak-Biermann’s daughters Brielle, 27, and Ariana, 22, from a previous relationship.
It wasn’t just fans who were concerned about Zolciak-Biermann’s “RIP” post. Following the uproar over her mother’s social media activity, Ariana said she had “a f***ing heart attack” when she saw the news.
“The DMs I get before I even see her too [Instagram] Story,” she said in a TikTok video posted on Tuesday, apparently addressing Zolciak-Biermann’s upload. “What would you do in this situation?” The second-hand embarrassment remains, let’s see what comes next week. I love you, but I… my heart. Tugging, no. That shit.”
