Not much could throw Jimmy Fallon from his game – but Nicole Kidman did when she appeared on his show in 2015.

“Nicole Kidman completely blindsided me on my show,” Fallon, 49, recalled during an interview with deadline on Thursday, April 25th. “We were just there to talk about one of her films or something she was going to win an award for. She was great and she looked great and we were talking and she said, “Did you know we were dating?” Do you remember like I had a crush on you and came to your apartment?

Fallon, who hosted The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon since 2014 was completely surprised and shared that his face “just melted.”

“It was the most embarrassing thing,” he added.

In January 2015, Fallon shared that he met Kidman, 56, after a mutual friend brought her to his apartment out of the blue.

“I’m walking down the street in New York City and my friend Rick calls me and says, ‘Dude, what are you doing?’ I have Nicole Kidman with me and she wants to meet you to be there Bewitched or so. I can be at your apartment in ten minutes,” Fallon told the actress, who appeared as a guest on the episode, adding that he wasn’t prepared because he wasn’t used to having people over.

After Fallon shared the funny story, Kidman shocked him by admitting that she had a crush on him.

“I just remember liking you. Not now, I’m married now,” she shared, referring to her husband Keith urban with whom she has been married since 2006. “But Rick said, ‘Jimmy wants to meet you and you can go to his apartment,’ and I was single.”

Fallon, to whom he is now married Nancy Juvonen since 2007, was confused by her revelation and replied: “What are you talking about? Could I have dated Nicole Kidman?”

Kidman further explained that he made no move to court her when she went to Fallon’s apartment.

“You didn’t want to talk, you didn’t say anything. You said, “Hey, mmm, mmm, mmm!” she joked.

Fallon admitted he was “nervous” and didn’t know what to say.

“I didn’t know it was a thing, I thought it was a movie or something,” he explained, before Kidman replied: “Well, it was like a hang, and then you put on a video game or something and I thought, ”This is so bad.’ And you didn’t talk at all. After about an hour and a half, I thought, ‘He’s not interested, this is so embarrassing.’ So I left and said, ‘Okay, no chemistry. Maybe he’s gay!'”

After Kidman’s comment, Fallon couldn’t take the embarrassment anymore and eventually left the set.

Jimmy Fallon has had his wife Nancy Juvonen by his side for almost two decades. The couple met in 2005 when Juvonen visited the set of Saturday Night Live with his longtime friend Drew Barrymore. Nearly a decade after the viral interview, Fallon said he and Urban, 56, still joke about the moment to this day.

“I went up [Keith] The last time I saw him was at the Met Gala and I said, ‘Hey, I think we might have been together before,’ and he laughed,” he told Deadline on Thursday. “He says, ‘Nicole is talking to someone on the other side of the table.’ Why don’t you go and just hold her hand? She’ll think it’s me and then I’ll walk around the table and wave at her.’”

Although Fallon admitted he didn’t want to be “hit,” he still went through with the prank.

“I went in and sat next to Nicole and grabbed her hand and she held it like it was probably Keith’s hand,” he explained. “She was like rubbing it and having this conversation. Then [Keith] walked across the table to the person she was talking to and he said, “Hello Nic,” and she said, “What?!” Jimmy, what are you doing?’ and I thought, ‘That was his idea!'”
