Jill Duggar posted some baby bump photos to her Instagram page this week.
But unlike previous instances where Jill shared pregnancy selfies, this wasn’t a happy occasion.
Jill announced her daughter’s stillbirth in April.
She previously shared photos from the baby’s funeral. But just this week she decided to share pictures from the pregnancy that ended in tragedy.
Jill Duggar’s baby bump photos spark outpouring of support
“The baby bump photos we so wanted to share but didn’t get to see before she was gone,” she captioned the post.
Hundreds of commenters expressed their kindness and support for Jill and her family.
The top comment came from Jill’s cousin Amy Duggar, who wrote:
“Isla had a goal and will continue to leave her mark here, there is no doubt about that! I wonder how many people you will serve with your testimony?
“Now Isla is growing up with Sweet River. I can’t imagine the heartbreaking love, I really can’t. But may I offer you another way to deal with this difficult loss?
“Can you imagine growing up in heaven?” Think of the beauty, the unity and the presence of the Lord! Her two children were so special that they never knew the darkness of this world.
“They live in perfect peace and you will see them again. What a reunion this day will be!! Grandma is there too. I have this mental image of her holding them. Hugs as you all continue to heal! Love you!!” Amy concluded.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the stillbirth of our beautiful baby girl, Isla Marie Dillard,” Jill and husband Derick Dillard wrote in their April 14 announcement.
“Jill was four months pregnant (due in August) when we found out our baby had died in the womb,” the couple continued.
“From the moment we found out we were pregnant, we couldn’t wait to see our baby. Isla was loved from the start and her three big brothers were so excited to introduce her into their world.”
The Duggars come together in the midst of tragedy
After this family tragedy, Jill was reunited with her estranged parents.
And it seems that she has great support from her cousin and her many siblings.
But the grief Jill and husband Derick Dillard are feeling is clearly profound.
The kindness the couple has received from friends, family and fans is certainly helpful. But nothing can heal the pain the Dillards are currently enduring.
With any luck, Jill and Derick will be able to move forward at some point. And if they decide to further expand their family, we hope they can do so with joy and optimism in their hearts.
In the meantime, our thoughts are with the Dillards during this incredibly difficult time.
