Kristen Doute Spread rumors about it Jesse Lally And Michelle Lally‘s marriage caused irreparable damage Vanderpump Rules Alum’s friendship.
“Kristen and I were friends for a very long time,” Jesse, 43, tells us exclusively Us weekly. “I remember when Jax [Taylor] I started working at SUR – Kristen probably won’t remember – but I went there and I still remember sitting at the table where tips were counted and having drinks with everyone.”
Jesse noted that he had a very good relationship with 41-year-old Kristen before they began filming The valley in the summer of 2023. “No matter what she says, we’ve been friends for a long time,” he says. “She was one of only two girls who attended our baby shower.”
After Kristen started talking about Michelle, 36, and Jesse’s relationship on the show, their dynamic on and off screen changed.
“We had a good relationship and haven’t spoken since. We didn’t speak at all. And [her boyfriend] Luke [Broderick] and I’m cordial – mostly I talk about things related to the show,” Jesse shared. “But yeah, I mean, it’s sad. You hate losing friends.”
Bravo fans had no idea what they were signing up for when the Vanderpump Rules Spin-off premiered in March. The show started slowly by reintroducing viewers to alums Kristen, Jax and Brittany Cartwright. It didn’t take long for all hell to break loose as Kristen claimed the rest was over The Valley Cast called Michelle a “racist.” (Which she denied.) Kristen also claimed that Michelle had a “secret boyfriend” and revealed that Jesse and Michelle’s marriage was on the rocks. (While Michelle denied cheating, the two have separated.)
“The time that has passed since the cameras went down – so much information has emerged [since] that it’s almost like we have to see each other again. Not just a solution, but that we can just move on,” Jesse tells us. “I think it’s important that people watching can really hear what has happened since the cameras went down and that there is some sort of closure for everyone. I think that’s important.”
Jesse tells Us that he first heard about the cheating rumors when the episode aired last month.
“I saw it when everyone else saw it. I distinctly remember leaving [after the fight] and went downstairs. Kristen and Luke were gone and my adrenaline was pumping so hard. I had no idea I had met Brittany. I literally turned my microphone back on, went upstairs, entered the room and immediately apologized to Brittany,” he recalls. “So I had no idea about the whole Luke and Kristen transformation and no one said [anything] me. It was the first time I heard it.”
The real estate agent, who is currently going through divorce proceedings with Michelle, was not happy with the way Kristen handled the situation.
“A lot of time has passed since then and I have learned a lot about my marriage. So no lights went out [when I watched the episode]“, Jesse shares with us. “But again, it’s been a long time since the cameras went down and I think all these things can be resolved at a reunion. I think it’s impossible not to have one.”
Jesse also commented on Kristen’s on-screen claims that she was trying to protect Michelle. (After the argument, Kristen had a fight with Michelle and Jesse. The former couple hasn’t gotten better with Kristen.)
“As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned that when you’re 40, you don’t want to meddle in other people’s business. Because then you are involved in the business and have to be supportive, but you can’t interfere,” he says Us. “Would I run and tell one of our friends that someone is cheating on you? Otherwise I wouldn’t be doing this and it’s not my job to get involved. … If it’s something that people go through, it’s just the way of life.”
