Fahadh Faasil is not happy with his latest release Avesham I am coming to the OTT platform at a time when the film is still enjoying great success in theaters.
Is Fahadh Faasil upset over ‘premature’ streaming of Aavesham on Prime Video?
Set against the backdrop of Bengaluru, Avesham is the story of a local kind-hearted gangster named Ranga (played by Fahadh Faasil) and the comical series of events that befall his fiefdom. When three aeronautical engineering students from Kerala – Aju, Bibi and Shantha – decide to stay at BK Hostel instead of college accommodation, they have no idea that their desire for freedom will land them in trouble with college graduates and eventually them would drift into the orbit of Ranga. The hilarious turn of events triggers a comedy of errors and an unlikely friendship between Ranga and Aju, Bibi and Shantha, which not only leads them down an unpredictable path full of conflicts and alliances, but also thwarts their academic ambitions and personal life.
In his official speech about the film releasing on the OTT platform, Fahadh Faasil said, “I play the flamboyant and unusual character of Ranga Avesham was a complete riot. It’s an unconventional film with a captivating plot and characters that bring the story to life in a way that you won’t be able to stop watching until the end. The enthusiasm that the film is experiencing at the box office is a testament to the appreciation of the audience and critics alike. After the successful theatrical release, I am very pleased that the film can now be streamed on Prime Video.”
However, a colleague of Faasil has a different story to tell. “He is not happy with it at all Avesham to go to the digital platform when things are still doing so well in the cinemas. He tried his best to reschedule the streaming date. “However, Amazon Prime Video didn’t want to hear about it,” said the colleague.
