IPL Points Table 2024: Orange Cap, Purple Cap List by RR vs LSG Game 4 and GT vs MI Game 5

RR against LSG and GT against MI were on the agenda on Sunday (March 24) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The first match was played at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The second match of the day was played at the Narendra Modi International Stadium in Ahmedabad.

In the first match between Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants, the Sanju Samson-led side won the match by 20 runs, marking their first match of the season. They showed a great performance with bat and ball.

Opting to bat first, Rajasthan Royals got off to a brave start with the bat thanks to Yashasvi Jaiswal (24) and Jos Buttler (11). After they got out, captain Sanju Samson ensured that he led from the front and guided his team to the big overall result.

Sanju Samson scored 82 runs while Riyan Parag (43) and Dhruv Jurel (20*) played practical shots around him. Based on their exuberant effort with the bat, Rajasthan Royals recorded 193 runs on the board. For LSG, Naveen-ul-Haq picked two wickets.

In the chase, LSG didn’t get off to a good start as they lost four quick wickets. KL Rahul (58) and Nicholas Pooran (64*) tried their best but could not take the team over the finish line. RR restricted the opposition to 173 runs and won the game by 20 runs.

In the second game, Mumbai Indians beat Gujarat Titans first. Skipper Shubman Gill (31) and Wriddhiman Saha (19) ensured a bold start for the team. Thereafter, Sai Sudharsan (49) held his team’s fort and played a decent hand while batting at No. 3.

Azmatullah Omarzai (17) and David Miller (12) made important contributions before Rahul Tewatia (22) ended the innings for his team in fine form. Gujarat Titans finished with a total of 168/6 and for Mumbai Indians, Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers. He returned with the numbers from March 14th. back.

In the chase, Mumbai Indians lost Ishan Kishan for a duck. But after that, debutant Naman Dhir played a 20-run cameo. After his exit, Rohit Sharma (42) and Dewald Brevis (46) played superbly and led the attack to the Gujarat Titans bowlers.

But after that, Mumbai Indians lost quick wickets and stumbled. Tilak Varma (25) and Hardik Pandya (11) tried their best but couldn’t. Gujarat Titans restricted Mumbai to runs and won the game by a margin of 6 runs.

Rajasthan Royals climbed to the top of the points table after their win at RR against LSG. Chennai Super Kings were relegated to second place. The Punjab Kings are third while the Gujarat Titans finished in the top four. KKR is in 5th place in the table while the other teams are yet to record a win.

Mustafizur Rahman retained his top spot in the leading wicket-takers charts. Jasprit Bumrah moved to second place after his cracking spell. T Natarajan is in third place. While Harshit Rana and Kuldeep Yadav are also on the list.
