CSK vs GT Game 7 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 took place on Tuesday (March 26). The finalists of the last edition of the league competed against each other at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai and both teams put up a great performance.
The Gujarat Titans won the toss and elected to field first. But their decision didn’t go their way as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rachin Ravindra were exceptional. The duo competed with full force and put their opponents under pressure.
Both scored 46 runs each while they added 62 runs together. After that, it was all about Shivam Dube, who struck brutally for half a century. The lanky batsman scored 51 runs off 23 balls, ensuring that the opposition spinners didn’t get bogged down at all. He batted at a strike rate of over 221.
Daryll Mitchell (24) and Sameer Rizvi (14) finished the innings on a high note as Chennai Super Kings put a massive 206 runs on the board in total. For Gujarat Titans, Mohit Sharma was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of 1/36.
In the chase, Shubman Gill (8) lost his wicket early on and after that they couldn’t get going at all. Sai Sudharsan (37) was the top run-scorer but it was not enough as Gujarat Titans failed to chase down the target. The Chennai Super Kings bowlers chipped in with the wickets at regular intervals. The visitors managed only 143/8 and lost the game by 68 runs.

Chennai Super Kings secured the top spot in the IPL 2024 points table. after CSK vs GT Game 7. Rajasthan Royals were relegated to second place. Gujarat Titans were pushed down to 6th place after the loss. Kolkata Knight Riders are at 3rd place while Punjab Kings are at 4th place and RCB are at 5th place. The remaining teams still have to register for victory.
