In a recent interaction with News18, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali shed light on Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone’s dynamic during the shooting of his film. Tamasha, post their breakup. Considering the film as a romantic comedy, there is a moment in the film where Ranbir’s character kisses Deepika’s character. Although it was all part of the script, several critics mocked such a scene for the ex-couple to play. However, Imtiaz, on the contrary, revealed the significance of that particular scene and revealed that filming it was a warm experience. In his words:
“We shot it in a studio. It was a stage that we created and a lot of work had happened, but this framework where he entered from a certain place and he entered from another place and they looked at each other from a very close distance. It’s a very difficult shot for actors because you’re seeing them so close and you can’t really tell how you’re going to react when you get that close to another person who’s the gender you’re attracted to. It was a warm experience for all of us to watch.”

As the conversation continued, Imtiaz Ali then dismissed several speculations that suggested that ex-couple Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone had an affair during the shoot Tamasha. He claimed that the two had lives beyond the camera as actors and what was captured on celluloid was nothing more than their mutual love for the craft of acting. He said:
“People feel that these people had an affair with each other, but more than that, in an actor’s life, there is the love of performing with each other, which is very important and meaningful.” Maybe you also love acting with each other, and these Both actors have that. As Ranbir Kapoor recalled exact details of his first date with Deepika Padukone
In one of his older media interactions, Ranbir Kapoor proved to be a green friend to his then lover Deepika Padukone as he remembered his first date with her in every detail. The actor recalled that he invited the diva for lunch at the Grand Hyatt Hotel after which the two headed out for a road trip and a movie date. Furthermore, he even remembered what Deepika wore that day and explained that she wore a white tank top with white linen pants and tied her hair in a high bun.
