ICC Players rankings: In the recently released ICC T20I Players’ rankings, New Zealand’s star batter Devon Conway has pipped Babar Azam
Riding on the back of brilliant performances in the recently concluded T20I series, both Devon Conway and Suryakumar Yadav were the biggest highlights in the batting charts. While Conway moved one spot up, Yadav extended his brilliant run at the peak. The 32-year-old Indian had 859 rating points last week but due to his mouth-watering century knock in the second T20I, the star batter achieved career-best 895 ratings. However, as he was dismissed early in the third outing, Yadav now has 890 rating points. Meanwhile, Conway has 788, 10 more than Azam.
Despite a great T20 WC, Virat Kohli pushed down further
However, despite being the top run scorer in the T20 World Cup 2022, Virat Kohli, who did not feature in the T20I series against New Zealand has lost further places in the batting tally. Kohli, who was on 11th earlier, has gone down two more places and now ranks 13 in the World. Kohli has 652 rating points and is overtaken by Alex Hales (655) and Jos Buttler (652).
Notably, fellow Kiwi star, Glenn Phillips has also notched up two spots in the batting charts. He pushed Rilee Rossouw and Aaron Finch down to scale two spots up and reach No.7. The Kiwi star has 699 ratings.
Also, several Australian stars have made big gains after clean-sweeping England in an ODI series. Star opener David Warner, who scored a ton and a half ton has scaled one position to reach the fifth spot in the ODI batting list. Steve Smith has also notched up three places to reach seventh. Meanwhile, Mitchell Starc moved four spots up to reach 4th, while Adam Zampa jumped eight spots to reach joint seventh on the bowling chart.
