Forget Dorothy. I’m the new gingham queen, and I don’t care who knows it. Wendy? Nobody knows her. Since I decided I wanted to rock this print, I decided not to care about anyone who might compare me to any of these fictional women. And now I’m even better because I’m wearing one of the cutest fabrics ever and it looks fantastic on me. The whole summer long? You better believe it. And one of my favorite gingham dresses comes from Amazon – where else?
I wear the Floerns Tie Strap Maxi Dress, which I got for just $47, almost every time I have a reason to leave the house (which isn’t as often as I’d like). This beautiful dress features a stretchy bodice with a long, tiered skirt, all dyed with micro violet gingham. The fabric has a slight stretch so it glides over my body, and it’s tied with cute little pom-pom ribbons the likes of which I’ve never seen before – how can it get much cuter? I’m really not sure. However, I know that the pompoms are one thing that people always comment on when I wear the dress.

I also like that this dress is maxi length because it almost makes me feel like a chic Little House on the Prairie character, like mom is just about to get dinner on the table and dad is me shows how to skin a deer. It goes perfectly with flip flops, sandals or even casual sneakers. And if the wind catches the skirt just right, you can feel like a princess as you twirl around in this dress, which I do. A lot.

It’s just about summer. And if you feel a strong need to feel like a princess with a beautiful, fluffy skirt while the sun beats down on us all, you won’t go wrong with this dress. Try it. But don’t buy too many, because I like to buy things that I like to wear often and I’ll be the one to dress you first.
