Carl Radke has not taken it lightly to compare his career with Lindsay Hubbardis up to date summer house Consequence.
“I feel like I pushed myself and something is going on,” Carl, 39, said Kyle Cooke on the Thursday, April 25, episode of the Bravo series, in which he recalled how Lindsay, 37, previously claimed he had no “hustle” or “passion” at work.
Carl left Kyle’s Loverboy in 2022 and in the summer of 2023, when Season 8 was filmed, he had yet to take on a full-time role. While talking to Kyle, he wondered how his career break was different from Lindsay’s work status. (Carl has since rejoined the Loverboy team in a limited capacity.)
“What have you done? Seriously, what are you doing?” he asked rhetorically while still talking to Kyle, 42. “Her business is disabled. The way she sees it is that she is the one Signing brand deals is what makes her a career. But that’s not a career.”
Carl joked; “I’m not trying to shake things up, but it definitely hits my ego. This narrative that I don’t do anything or don’t make money is kind of ridiculous.”
Carl revealed that he’s already made $70,000 this year from paid posts, but confessed that Lindsay makes even more on social media. “She made $150 [thousand],” he shared.
Elsewhere in the episode, Carl explained that the argument over money wasn’t the only shocking conversation he had with Lindsay this weekend.
He told Kyle that he realized “for the first time” that Lindsay wanted to be a stay-at-home mom, admitting, “It’s definitely a conversation we should have had a year and a half ago.” (At the time of filming in August In 2023, Carl and Lindsay planned to tie the knot three months later.)
“From what I know of Lindsay, she is an independent, career-driven woman. Now it sounds like she just wants to stay home and raise the kids,” Carl said during a confessional. “It’s a lot of pressure for me.”
Carl and Lindsay began dating in the summer of 2021 after briefly dating a few years earlier. The couple got engaged in the summer of 2022, which was seen on season 7 of summer house.
After filming for Season 8 ended, Us weekly confirmed that Carl called off their engagement in August 2023. Lindsay told exclusively Us in November 2023 that she was “taken by surprise” by the separation.
Meanwhile, viewers watched Carl and Lindsay’s relationship fall apart during the Bravo series’ eighth season, which premiered in February.
Not only did Lindsay claim on the show that Carl lacked ambition, the two also argued in several episodes, revealing sexual frustrations and stating that there were “red flags” on both sides.
summer house airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
