Don Lemon is still on a “wedding high” since her marriage. Tim Maloneand he reveals all the secrets behind creating her perfect guest list.
“Of course, first and foremost, it is all people who are really important to us. Family and then our extended family, our friends and the people closest to us,” Lemon, 58, exclusively shared Us weekly to the TIME100 Gala on Thursday, April 25th. “When we haven’t seen people for a long time and lost contact with them, we kind of did it that way. childhood friends [and] All of our college friends were there and of course the people we love the most.”
Lemon and Malone, 38, tied the knot on April 6 at a ceremony in New York City led by the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas Greenfield. Music moguls were among the 140 guests Clive Davis, Alec Baldwin, The view Cohost Joy Beharformer Today anchor Matt Lauer And Sex and the City Creator Darren Star.
Despite the crowd of celebrities, Lemon insisted Thursday that he and his longtime partner didn’t plan for the bash to be star-studded.
“It was funny because people were like, ‘Oh, there’s a celebrity guest list.’ It’s not like [that]said Lemon Us. “Joy is my neighbor in the Hamptons. Sunny [Hostin] Was [in the] Office across from me [at] CNN. We’ve known each other forever.”
He added, “Sara [Haines]Who ‘s there? The viewwas on NBC’s Page program with my husband. Whoopi [Goldberg] is a mentor [and] Clive Davis is a mentor and a long-time friend. These are just long-time friends, so it wasn’t a celebrity guest list. They were the people we love most in the world.”

“I go hang out with my husband and my dogs, and we try to go to the beach and just relax,” Lemon explained of his recent self-care rituals. “And we have a Sunday family dinner every Sunday…whether we’re in the Hamptons, if we’re in New York, wherever we are, we have dinner on Sundays. It’s date night and the end of the night [Tim] falls asleep before we can get to the movie.”

Lemon further noted that Malone’s sleeping habits even inspired his wedding vows.
“I said, ‘I love it when you fall asleep on date night before the credits even roll,'” he joked Us. “‘So this is important to me [and] Let’s get married.'”
