DJ Vlad is Clearing the Air After Going Viral for Threatening to Report a Black Princeton Professor

Early Monday (May 6th), DJ Vlad backed off his threats to report a black Princeton professor to her employer. Vlad and Morgan Jenkins weighed in on X (formerly Twitter) over the weekend after she suggested it wasn’t his place to talk about the Drake and Kendrick Lamar beef.

“As it is Monday, I want to make it clear that I never intended to file a complaint with Princeton about former professor Morgan Jerkins claiming that white people should not comment on Kendrick Lamar’s music. She trolled me and I trolled back. At the end of the day, an interesting discussion emerged about race relations in America. I will talk more about this in my future interviews.” Vlad wrote.

However, unlike his other posts, Vlad did not mention Princeton University in his clarification – a fact that Jenkins highlighted in her response.

“A lie. He tagged my employer several times with the intent to harm me professionally. I wasn’t trolling. I highlighted black people in a discussion about hip-hop and told him to resign because that wasn’t his area “He’s backing out because he miscalculated. By the way, stop contacting my family.” She wrote.

As previously reported, Kendrick Lamar heaped several accusations on Drake in the three dissertations he published last weekend. One of the accusations of being a “culture freak” now also applies to DJ Vlad.

What happened between DJ Vlad and Morgan

Black online users tout his popularity in hip-hop and black celebrity journalism, even though he is a white man.

“Kendrick’s ‘Not Like Us’ needed a better mix. It takes something away from the song,” Vlad posted on May 4th.

Jenkins quoted his post and wrote: “You are white. This is a BLACK PEOPLE MATTER.” Vlad jumped in on the defense, citing Jenkins’ career as a member of the Princeton CWR faculty her X-biography.

“Wait, so a professor at @Princeton is telling me that a white guy shouldn’t be allowed to express his opinion on hip hop? Is this how you interact with your students?” he wrote back.

Jenkins made it clear that his opinion was “not necessary” in the beef discussion, insisting that all conversations should focus “on the Black people” and not Vlad. In his response, he accused her of trying to change her words, tagged Princeton and threatened to contact the university on Monday (May 6) about her exchange.

Jenkins then attacked the podcaster and accused him of retaliation.

“The semester is over and my contract has expired. But thank you for trying to force me out of my job for putting Black people at the center because your feelings were hurt. Very retributive, right? Nice tactic!”

When DJ Vlad tagged Princeton again, he responded that professors have a “permanent record,” adding that he attended Berkeley.

“People spew ignorant and bigoted comments publicly and then act like they are being bullied when they receive a response. Typical victim mentality. Go ahead and take the @princeton off your profile, sweetie. You just admitted it’s not even true anymore. Lol,” DJ Vlad wrote.

Jenkins clapped back and said she also graduated from Princeton. He then wished her good luck in working at the university again and indicated that they disagreed with her “I tell non-black students to keep their mouths shut when it comes to anything hip-hop related because of the color of their skin.”

Morgan Jenkins accused him missing the point. She then criticized Vlad’s decision to respond to her, belittling her academic background and jeopardizing her job, despite all the other “much harsher” criticisms he had received.

When he tagged Princeton AGAIN, Vlad clapped back, accusing the professor of “spitting intolerance.”
