His death was confirmed on Friday, April 12, via Roberto Cavalli’s official Instagram account. “A life full of love,” the statement began. “It is with great sadness that we say our final goodbyes to our founder Roberto Cavalli today. “From his humble beginnings in Florence, Roberto managed to become a globally recognized name, loved and respected by all. Roberto was naturally talented and creative and believed that everyone can discover and create the artist within.”
The statement concluded: “Roberto Cavalli’s legacy will live on through his creativity, his love of nature and through his family, which he cherished.”

The late designer and his eponymous fashion house have been popular with many, including a number of A-list celebrities, for years Beyonce, Kris Jenner, Taylor Swift, Madonna And Zendaya.
Cavalli famously believed that “excess equals success” and championed maximalism in his collections, using animal prints, vibrant patterns, jewel embellishments and bold colors.
“Fashion is part of our lives,” he told CNN in 2008. “When you wake up in the morning you ask yourself, ‘What do I have to wear to look beautiful, fantastic, sexy, special?’ That’s why I love being a fashion designer, because it allows me to measure your mood, your life.”
Cavalli founded his luxury label in 1972 in his hometown of Florence, Italy.
