Former KKR batsman Aakash Chopra cannot understand what is happening in IPL 2024 after watching Punjab Kings reach IPL’s biggest ever target of 262.

There were eight balls left in the second innings when Shashank Singh and Jonny Bairstow led Punjab to this massive total.
While Shashank scored 68 off just 28, it was a night for Bairstow, who was man of the match with 108 off 48. This stunning strike bowled over Aakash Chopra, who had sensed that Punjab would not be able to chase him down.

An unsung hero of the Punjab kings who did not receive much praise was Prabhsimran Singh. The right-hand batsman was the one who initiated Punjab’s emphatic response but he was quite unlucky as he was run out after scoring 50 off 20.

Aakash Chopra further claimed that the idea of a total of 300 is not far from becoming a reality. The 38-year-old noted that there was no dew at all at the Eden Gardens and if 260 is still chased, we will see a total of 300 in the 2025 IPL, if not this season.
“There was no dew and yet when so many runs are scored without any problems, 300 is not far off. They will definitely be ranked, if not this year then next year. I am absolutely convinced.” – Chopra concluded.
