EXCLUSIVE:Chris Coy (Law Enforcement Officer: Bass Reeves) has been tapped for a regular role on the Netflix drama Black Rabbitand a supporting role in David Robert Mitchell’s Warner Bros. film Flowervale Street.
In the first project, Coy will play Babbitt, a low-level bookmaker. Details about his Flower Valley The part and plot of the film remain under wraps.
With Jason Bateman and Jude Law, Black Rabbit is a limited series centered around a serious sibling drama: When the owner of a New York hotspot (Law) lets his turbulent brother (Bateman) back into his life, he opens the door to escalating dangers that threaten everything he has has built up to bring it down. As previously announced, Cleopatra Coleman, Amaka Okafor, Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù and Dagmara Dominczyk will also star in the hour-long drama, created and written by Zach Baylin and Kate Susman and based on an original idea.
In addition to starring in and directing the first two episodes, Bateman is producing alongside Michael Costigan for Aggregate Films. Other EPs include Law and Ben Jackson for Riff Raff Entertainment; Baylin and Susman for Youngblood Pictures; Andrew Hinderaker, who will serve as co-showrunner alongside Baylin and Susman; Zac Frognowski, Justin Levy, David Bernon and Erica Kay.
Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor star Flowervale Street, which was only described as an IMAX “thrill” by Warner Bros. Pictures and Bad Robot. Other previously announced cast members include Maisy Stella, Christian Convery, Jordan Alexa Davis and PJ Byrne.
Mitchell is directing from his script and producing alongside JJ Abrams and Hannah Minghella, as well as Bad Robot, Matt Jackson of Jackson Pictures and Tommy Harper. Good Fear Content’s Jake Weiner and Chris Bender serve as executive producers, while Sheila Walcott and Zach Hamby are overseeing the project for Warner Bros Motion Picture Group. The image is scheduled to be released on May 16, 2025.
