Actor, advocate and climate fighter Bhumi Pednekar is one of the five Indians selected by the World Economic Forum to be part of its Young Global Leaders (YGL) Community: The Class of 2024. Bhumi is currently inducted in Geneva as a Young Global Leader of the World!

Earlier this month, the World Economic Forum released its list of nearly 90 changemakers under the age of 40 who are shaping the future and accelerating positive change through their groundbreaking work in public health, economic development, technology and sustainability.
In a statement, the World Economic Forum said the 2024 list consists of a remarkable group of rising stars from politics, business, civil society, arts and science.
Along with Bhumi, the list also includes Adwaita Nayar, CEO of Nykaa Fashion; Arjun Bhartia, Director, Jubilant Group; Priya Agarwal Hebbar, Non-Executive Director, Vedanta Limited; and Sharad Vivek Sagar, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Dexterity Global.
Bhumi says, “I am proud to be a Young Global Leader from India at the World Economic Forum! This motivates me to dedicate every minute of my life to social good. This recognition is even more special because it comes next year on the eve of my tenth year in cinema!”
She adds: “I am constantly inspired by interacting with changemakers from different parts of the world who are putting their money where their mouth is to make a difference. This incredibly prestigious platform gives me the opportunity to connect with such brilliant minds and join forces to leave a better world for our future generations.”
She continues: “As an actress, entrepreneur and climate activist, I want to work towards actionable change.” My main focus is promoting sustainability and I want to mobilize as many people as possible to keep our planet healthy. I look forward to the opportunities to collaborate, share ideas and drive meaningful impact on a global scale.”
According to the World Economic Forum, for the past two decades, the Forum of Young Global Leaders has been at the forefront of building a unique community of leaders committed to directly addressing the world’s most pressing issues.
