Does performing at weddings make you less of a singer? That was the problem when singers Abhijeet Bhattacharya and Neha Kakkar clashed in the latest episode of Superstar Singer 3. In a viral footage from the singing reality show, the two can be seen arguing as Abhijeet argued that it was beneath dignity to accept money for singing at weddings, leading to a harsh reaction from Neha telling the contestant otherwise advises.

The moment appears after a young contestant, still on stage, finishes his performance. While Abhijeet expressed his views, the singer added that the small child should not sell his pictures at a low price.
“When someone pays you to sing at a wedding, The quantity is decreasing. It’s my time, I gave the words and I don’t count them.. No power or money in the world can buy you,” he said. Neha disagreed with the singer and added, “You make money when you work hard – that can happen through weddings too, there’s nothing wrong with that. “Fans can call you because they like you.”
Abhijeet then interrupted her and said, “Don’t take what I said personally.” Neha replied, “I didn’t take it personally sir, but because we are raising a child…” Abhijeet then interrupted her again while Neha continued shouted over him to emphasize her point.
“I do the same thing too. When it comes to Aukaat… Just listen to me… There is a difference between singing for 1 Crore Rupees and refusing 1 Crore Rupees. This is what I teach,” Abhijeet maintained his stand.
Neha then calmly told him, “Sir, I’m just trying to say that no job is small,” while images showed Abhijeet folding his hands to signal he was done speaking. She continued: “If you have to sing at weddings, please do it. If someone shows you respect and speaks to you lovingly, there is nothing wrong with singing at weddings.”
The graphics then showed the contestant nodding while Abhijeet sat in his chair and whispered a “wow” that was drowned out by the audience’s cheers. Abhijeet was a prominent singer in the 1990s and performed backing tracks for virtually all major celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan among others.
