Beijing 2024: Toyota BZ3C and BZ3X Concept Revealed – Paultan.org

During Auto China 2024, taking place in Beijing today, Toyota unveiled two concept models that provide the first hint of the electric vehicle (EV) that will soon hit the market.

If anyone says the design looks familiar, it’s because it’s an evolution of the bZ Crossover Concept and the bZ FlexSpace Concept that were shown in Shanghai last year.

Starting with the bZ3C, it is a fastback crossover that uses a C-shaped headlight design that connects in the middle, along with door openers that sit flush with the body, an ADAS sensor on the roof (probably lidar) and a rear diffuser element.

Inside, this concept model features a minimalist dashboard design with a touchscreen for the infotainment system, which can also be used to adjust various vehicle functions such as the air conditioning.

There is a raised console in the middle near the gear selector, which also houses several items such as cups. However, it is unknown whether the mood lights will be used on the production model or not.

The second concept model, bZ3X, is a two-row SUV that also uses the same headlight design as the bZ3C. On the back there is a long light strip that runs from left to right.

Here too, all vehicle functions can be accessed via the touchscreen in the middle and the center console also has a raised design. Both the bZ3c and bZ3X have a large panoramic roof at the top.

Toyota has not yet revealed any details about the engine, but it is said to be equipped with the latest driving assistance systems and a smart cockpit.

In addition, Toyota also stated that these two concept vehicles will be manufactured in China in collaboration with local manufacturers. BYD Toyota EV Technology, FAW Toyota Motor and Toyota Intelligent Electromobility R&D Center (IEM by Toyota), among others, are involved in bZ3C.

Meanwhile, bZ3X was also developed by Toyota in collaboration with Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC Group), GAC Toyota Motor and IEM by Toyota. Production versions of both concept models are expected to hit the market in China later this year.
