Anya Taylor Joy sat down with diversity to talk about her marriage, career and more, and her swan-inspired cover shoot highlighted the 28-year-old actress’s graceful demeanor. In several recordings for the release the Angry The star posed in a white dress and wrapped her in a wavy portrait.
Her full dress was visible in the main image – a long, strapless white dress with a matching train that hugged her body as if she were in it Swan Lake. The following snapshots from the shoot were black and white photos of the Golden Globe Award winner. In a second outfit for the release, Anya wore what appeared to be a white spiked bodycon top.
While speaking to the outlet, Anya gushed about her “magical” wedding to her husband Malcolm McRae in 2022. Although they noted that they “weren’t together for very long,” the said Splits star recapitulated the moment they tied the knot.
“When you know, you know…Malcolm FaceTimed his family from church. We were like, ‘Hiii!'” Anya said. “But they knew – we were engaged for a while.”
She also revealed when Malcolm – a musician and frontman of the band More – proposed.
“We got engaged while I was filming The menu,” she said, referring to the horror comedy that premiered in 2022. “We kept it a secret from our friends until a newspaper blew it up.”
Since Anya is one of the most sought-after actresses in Hollywood, she appeared in one of the most famous action sci-fi films of the year: Dune: Part Two. However, fans noticed that her role was short-lived. She portrayed the younger sister of Timothée ChalametPaul Atreides, called Alia, in one scene.
While she remembers how she convinced the director Denis Villeneuve Anya noted that it didn’t take much convincing to cast her.
“Before I even sat down, he said, ‘I want you to be there.’dune“But you can’t!” she explained, referring to her already hectic filming schedule at the time. “I said, ‘Please!’ I skipped all stages of grief and went straight to begging. I thought, ‘I can do this.’ ‘I can be in Australia and Abu Dhabi at the same time.’ He wanted me to be part of the universe. We stayed in touch. I just felt like it wasn’t over yet.”
Luckily, while she was filming her new film, Angry, Anya received a call from Denis who told her, “‘I made a deal with the studio’: If I stay on budget and on schedule, I could do it.” I told my husband and parents and took mine mother with. I asked Denis to tell the cast in advance. I said, ‘I can’t just show up.'” Please don’t do that to me.'”
