Amar Singh Chamkila is one of the most talked about films in recent times. The film tells the story of legendary Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila and his second wife Amarjot.
While Amar Singh Chamkila and Amarjot’s love story in the film was appreciated by the viewers, his wife Gurmail’s plight went unnoticed by everyone. In conversation about this, Amar Singh and Gurmail’s daughter Amandeep now shared why she is disappointed with Imtiaz Ali.

Amandeep, Amar Singh Chamkila’s daughter, is upset with Imtiaz Ali
Amandeep recently appeared on Switch’s YouTube channel where she shared that she and her family are deeply disappointed and upset with Imtiaz Ali. She explained that her family gave the director a lot of information about Amar Singh Chamkila’s life. However, there was nothing in the film and Imtiaz Ali conveniently skipped showing her side of the family. Anandeep spoke about her disappointment and added:
“They showed everyone from Amarjot’s family but no one from our family. My bua, chacha, no one was shown. We’re mad at him. How could he do that?”
Amandeep also revealed that it was her mother Gurmail who performed the last rites of Amar Singh Chamkila and Amarjot but nothing was shown. She added that at the end all the pictures were shown in the credits but Imtiaz Ali didn’t add her picture.
