Maruti Suzuki’s much-awaited product, the Swift, is all set to launch in the Indian market. Maruti Suzuki has now officially opened bookings for the new Swift. Interested buyers can pre-order the fourth-generation Swift for Rs 11,000 from dealers across the country. The Maruti Swift was one of the most popular hatchbacks in its segment. Since its launch, Maruti has sold over 29,000 units of this hatchback.

Suzuki is already selling the all-new Swift in international markets. According to the reports that have surfaced online, the Indian version of the hatchback will get the same design as the older version. The car gets an evolutionary design that makes it look sleeker, sportier and more premium than before.
Maruti Suzuki had already hinted at the new engine that will be offered with the new Swift. It will be a 1.2-liter three-cylinder naturally aspirated engine. The engine is tuned for efficiency and performance in city traffic. We currently have no information on performance data; However, according to a report by V3 Cars, the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Swift will produce 81.6 PS and 112 Nm of peak torque.
Compared to the previous model, the next-generation Swift produces less power and slightly less torque. The engine is tuned to deliver the highest fuel efficiency in the segment. According to the internal document leaked online, the upcoming Maruti Swift will have a certified fuel efficiency of 25.72 kmph.
Like most Maruti models in India, the engine of the upcoming Swift will feature mild hybrid technology that will help increase the overall economy of the car. The 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. However, it is not known whether the manufacturer will offer a CVT or AMT transmission. The international version has a CVT gearbox and the older versions of the Swift sold in India were all offered with AMTs.
The chances of Maruti offering AMT with Swift are quite high as it would help them keep the cost of the vehicle under control. Maruti Suzuki will offer a redesigned cabin with the new Swift.
The multi-layered design of the dashboard is similar to what we have seen on the current generation Baleno and Fronx. Maruti will offer its new floating touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, multi-function steering wheel, start-stop button and many more features.
Maruti will introduce the series hybrid technology with Swift at a later date and similarly, a CNG option would also be offered for Swift post-launch. After launching Swift, Maruti will also launch the updated Dzire or the all-new Maruti Dzire.
