Scotland did exceptionally well to qualify for the Super 12 phase of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. They finished the first round in first place, winning three out of three games.

They go into the competition with a comprehensive 8-wicket win over Oman. The openers formed a respectable 33-run partnership in the last game against Oman. Munsey scored 20 from 19 deliveries before failing to convert another start into a big score. Monday’s game could be the right game for him. Skipper Kyle Coetzer returned to form with a match-winning 41-run knock in just 28 balls. That would have given him enormous self-confidence for the all-important game.

Richie Berrington has scored the majority of goals for Scotland so far in the tournament. He was simply outstanding in the tournament. In 3 games, he managed to score 103 runs at an average of 51.50. Mathew Cross also played a handy 26-run knock off 35 balls to guide the side home in 17 overs against Oman. Culum MacLeod didn’t bat in the last game but should keep his place in the team.

All-rounders: Chris Greaves and Mark Watt

Not long ago, Chris Greaves put in an excellent all-round performance in the first match of the qualifying round against Bangladesh. He hasn’t made big returns since then. Fans would hope that he looks good with both bat and ball in Monday’s important game. Markk Watt bowled exceptionally well in the last game, taking his 1-23 in 4 overs.

Bowlers: Josh Davey, Safyaan Sharif and Bradley Wheal

Josh Davey was sensational in the tournament. He has picked wickets regularly and has emerged as the biggest threat for the opposition. In 3 matches he has managed to pick 8 wickets at an average of 8.38.

Saifyaan Sharif also put in a great performance of 2 for 25 in 4 overs in the last game against Oman. Fans would hope he puts in a similar performance against Afghanistan. Bradley Wheal should also complete the playing eleven.
