One day after announcing their eleventh studio album The Tortured Poets Department, Swift revealed the song titles – including the song “Fortnight” featuring Malone. The “Circles” singer then shared a snippet of Swift’s track list and several heart emojis on Instagram.
But Malone and Swift have more in common than just collaborating on the album 2024.
The couple met at the Billboard Music Awards in 2018 and have praised each other over the years. The “Sunflower” singer even has a special bond with a specific person in the “Cruel Summer” singer’s life – her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.

Swift meets Malone

“There are so many beautiful artists in the world and for another artist to acknowledge that is a really, really bitchy thing. “That’s something really special,” Malone recalled of the interaction in October 2023. “That was a really cool moment and very inspiring.”
Malone continued to gush about Swift’s growing success and even hinted at a future collaboration.
“It’s damn cool. It’s so cool,” he said Howard Stern. “I hung out with her recently and she really is one of the kindest and most thoughtful and best damn songwriters. Holy shit, incredible.”
Malone has a bond with Travis Kelce
Malone is friends with Kelce and tells the hilarious story of when he lost a game of beer pong to the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Malone follows Swift on TikTok
In 2022, eagle-eyed Malone fans noticed that the rapper had followed Swift on TikTok. Additionally, he was one of only 31 people Malone followed on the platform.
Naturally, both artists’ fan bases began speculating about what this all might mean.
“I’ve been hoping for this since she hugged him at the VMAs,” someone wrote on Reddit. “I’m a long-time Taylor fan and a huge Post fan and I would love this so much. They are both such talented songwriters and artists. That would be great.”
You’d have to wait another two years to find out.
Swift hits the jumbotron during Malone’s Super Bowl performance
As Malone sang “America the Beautiful” at Super Bowl LVIII in February 2024, Swift and her boyfriend were spotted on the big screen at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas Blake Lively swayed to the performance.
Swift and Lively were just as surprised as everyone else when they saw themselves, laughing as they hugged during Malone’s performance.
