2025 Kia EV6 Shows off Its Redesigned LEDs Ahead of Upcoming Debut

  • The facelifted Kia EV6 was revealed in a teaser, announcing its impending debut.
  • The electric crossover features a new lightning signature with slimmer LEDs.
  • In addition to the visual updates, the EV6 will likely get a larger battery and a revised chassis setup.

Kia is ready to unveil the redesigned version of the EV6 crossover, three years after the debut of the original. The all-electric model made its first appearance in a revealing teaser ahead of the official unveiling, which is expected to take place in Korea later this month.

The updated Kia EV6 follows the closely related Hyundai Ioniq 5, which received a facelift earlier this year, while the more premium Genesis GV60 – also based on the E-GMP architecture – is expected to be refreshed soon.

The 2025 Kia EV6 will adopt the automaker’s evolved design language, making it more in line with the rest of the lineup. The highlight is the all-new headlights with thinner LED graphics for a more modern look. The grille has a distinctive “tiger nose” shape, with the redesigned front bumper creating a more 3D effect.

At the rear, the changes are rather subtle, although Kia designers have optimized the LED taillight graphics and look much cleaner without the vertical elements. We’re also expecting a fresh rear bumper and new wheel designs that refresh the profile.

Kia hasn’t shown the interior, but the facelift is likely to bring an updated infotainment system, a new steering wheel, and new color and trim options. The EV6 is also expected to benefit from more sophisticated safety features and cutting-edge connectivity.

As for the basics, the EV6 is expected to carry over the new 84 kWh battery pack from the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5, replacing the current 77.4 kWh unit. According to Hyundai, the larger capacity will bring a slight improvement in range figures. In addition, Kia engineers could optimize the suspension tuning to achieve a more refined ride while maintaining the sporty character of their offering. Single or dual electric motor powertrain options are expected to carry over, including the flagship GT model.

Kia recently confirmed that the facelifted EV6 will launch in the second quarter of 2024, with the EV6 GT following in the fourth quarter. We expect the model to initially launch in its home market of Korea before coming to Europe and North America.
