2024 Mazda EZ-6 Premieres in China as a Redesigned Deepal SL03

After a leak on the eve of the Beijing Auto Show, the Mazda EZ-6 officially debuted as China’s all-electric replacement for the Mazda6.

From the outside, the EZ-6 looks like a Mazda product, but is based on the same EPA1 architecture as the Deepal SL03 sedan, which is produced by Mazda’s Chinese joint venture partner Changan. Production of the new model will start later this year. It is only Mazda’s third battery-electric vehicle and will also be available with a plug-in hybrid drive.

The EZ-6 is 4,921 mm (193.7 inches) long, 1,890 mm (74.4 inches) wide and 1,485 mm (58.4 inches) high and, as a BEV, has a perfect 50:50 weight distribution. Mazda has not yet provided technical specifications for the BEV or PHEV versions of the EZ-6, other than claiming that the BEV will have a range of about 373 miles (600 km), while the PHEV has over 621 miles (1,000 km ) can travel km) with one tank of fuel. It is likely that the Deepal SL03 electric drives will be offered in the EZ-6. It is available with 58.9 kWh and 66.8 kWh battery packs, which drive a rear electric motor with 215 hp (160 kW) and 236 lb-ft (320 Nm), as well as with 255 hp (190 kW) and 236 lb-ft (320 Nm). Nm) option.

The car adopts Mazda’s “Soul of Motion” design philosophy with a dynamic instrument panel, slim LED headlights and an eye-catching grille. Mazda says the EZ-6 will launch with safety and convenience technologies, including accident avoidance systems and a smart parking system that allows the car to be operated by voice even when the driver is outside.

In addition to the EZ-6, the Mazda Arata concept is celebrating its premiere in Beijing. This sleek SUV is a preview of a battery-electric SUV that will be known as the EZ-60. Changan Mazda plans to launch this second electrified model by the end of 2025.
