The third time is a charm for Zendaya! The co-chairman of the 2024 Met Gala dazzled in three looks at Monday’s event, slipping into an ethereal white look during the festivities.

Zendaya debuted her third style while standing on stage with her co-chairs at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Jennifer Lopez, Bad bunny And Chris Hemsworth. This year’s Met Gala theme – “Sleeping Beauty: Fashion Awakens” – is a nod to fashion history. Curated and organized by the Costume Institute, the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s exhibition theme features 250 objects from its permanent collection, presented in new, innovative ways.
Unsurprisingly, Z followed the Garden of Time dress code with her longtime boyfriend and stylist Law Roach.
For Her first look of the evening, Zendaya stole the show in an edgy peacock-inspired dress by Maison Margiela with a feathered headpiece. The look was also a brilliant reinterpretation of an ensemble worn by actress Suzanne Von Aichinger at the 1999 Dior show.
After stumbling up the museum’s fabled stairs, Zendaya made a quick change and returned in another stunning dress.
The black garment – a Givenchy Haute Couture by John Galliano from the Spring/Summer 1996 collection – featured a corseted bodice and long train, and was accessorized with a floral headpiece.
Her second look came from Rita Watnick, who spoke to ET about how the dress ended up in the world euphoria Actress hands.
Watnick – owner of Los Angeles boutique LILY et Cie – shared that the wheels in Roach’s head started turning several months ago, but that the starlet who would later wear the dress only had her first fitting a few weeks ago had.
“We were discussing clothes, showing pieces, having a good time in the store, and when he left I actually had no idea that he had found what he thought was the right dress for Zendaya,” Watnick said of her first meeting with Roach, 45.
About the first fitting, the shop owner said: “It was beautiful, easy, fun and comfortable. She tried on a dress and then we waited about a week to find out it was actually what she wanted to wear.”
Watnick said that while she doesn’t typically work with stylists — she likes to work directly with the source — she was willing to make an exception for Roach and Zendaya.
“I think together they really create an incredible fashion landscape,” she added. “They must get along very well.”
While the dress itself told a story through its beauty and stature, the boutique owner took a moment to acknowledge the very special meaning she found in the choice.
