Zack Snyder Reveals Scrapped ‘Justice League 2’ Scene Was Used for ‘Rebel Moon’

Not even Zack Snyder can get past his canceled film “Justice League”! The director revealed a scene in the Rebel Moon Sequel that was intended to be used in a DC film.

Despite the critical backlash, fans were thrilled Rebel Moon. The franchise is Zack Snyder’s latest project for Netflix and brings back the cosmic stakes that fans have been craving from him ever since Justice League. However, it seems that tone isn’t the only thing Snyder took away from his DC outings.

There’s a scene in the recently released one Rebel Moon Sequel where the heroes sit down to share stories about the war. What fans may not have realized is that this scene was a direct reference to his DC trilogy. According to Zack Snyder, the concept for the dinner was one he originally developed for the second dinner Justice League Movie.

“There is absolutely a Last Supper Justice League 2“Snyder told The Hollywood Reporter. “And the scene got them telling the stories of how they got there, because Justice League 2 would open with us now, in 10 years. And yes, [Rebel Moon — Part Two’s sequence] has a similar structure to that Justice League 2 Scene we have.”

Rebel Moon is getting a Snyder Cut

Although Zack Snyder has carte blanche at Netflix, the director seems to be taking even more inspiration from him Justice League ventures. Later this year, Snyder plans to release extended director’s cuts of both Rebel Moon Films. But in his opinion they are closer to alternative universes than anything else.

“The director’s cuts are really the alternate universe version of these films,” Snyder continued. “They are what I wrote. They’re a lot more mythological and a lot stranger tonally and have a lot more of the deconstructionist sci-fi universe quality that I intended… I really wanted to make a film that was a lot more Heavy metal magazine as war of starsand much more disrespectful than reverent.”

“The PG-13 version is much more serious. It’s strangely serious because there’s no over-the-top sex or violence to set the tone. The [director’s cuts] They’re both three hours long and contain a lot of never-before-seen scenes and a lot of other crazy stuff, plus they have a very high R rating, which is no joke.”

Many fans are criticizing Zack Snyder’s decision to hold back a director’s cut Rebel Moon. they claim Justice League was a one-time circumstance and said he should have just released a single version. Judging by the critical reviews of both Netflix films, perhaps it was best to listen to the critics!
