X (Twitter) is planning a living room debut, and the platform’s CEO has highlighted what users can expect.
As CEO Linda Yaccarino posted on X, the “X TV app” is preparing to hit larger displays “soon.” According to Yaccarino, the TV app hopes to become the “go-to companion” for “immersive” entertainment through the social media service. The teaser gave us a brief glimpse of X’s planned user interface for the app, which is very reminiscent of YouTube.
The current build shows a user’s profile icon above a search icon and home button in the top left. X plans to create a few lines full of videos for users to watch. The first displays “Trends,” followed by a “For You” section.
Yaccarino states that the plan is for the content displayed to be “engaging” and displayed in “real time.”

More importantly, it was originally reported that X plans to release its TV app exclusively on Amazon and Samsung TVs.
That no longer appears to be the case, with Yaccarino touting availability for “most” smart TVs. But we have to wait for the development of the app to be completed.
The platform has focused more on videos as it highlighted a high user engagement rate in one blog entry in January. The company said the option to do long video uploads
