Rising WWE star Tiffany Stratton is ready to take “Tiffy Time” back in time.
In an exclusive interview with Us weeklythe current SmackDown Superstar, 25, said she would “love” to have a one-on-one interview with the WWE legend and Hall of Famer Trish Stratus.
Stratton enthused: “This is a dream match for me.”
Stratus’ full-time return to WWE last year culminated in a months-long feud with Becky Lynch. After losing to the 37-year-old Lynch in a steel cage match at Payback in September, Stratus stopped competing in the ring.
Still, Stratton knows that space on the Stratus calendar is at a premium.
“She’s a busy girl,” Stratton said. “She has a lot going on. She has children.”
In fact, Stratus, 48, has a son together Maximus10, and daughter Madison7, with her 17-year-old husband, Ron physicist.
Stratton concluded of a fight between the two: “If that’s why she doesn’t agree, I’m 100 percent against it.”
Whatever the case, Stratus praised Stratton in a recent interview with the WWE legend Booker T‘s Hall of Fame podcast — and even drew parallels between their careers.
“I know Tiffany has had a similar journey just based on her looks and her lack of background, just like me,” Stratus said in October. “I don’t have a traditional background or a traditional upbringing. We’re both in the same predicament.”
When Stratus was asked about a possible game against Stratton, he didn’t completely close the door.
“Every time I go back it’s like, ‘Am I going to have fun?'” she explained. “Will it be entertaining for the fans? Is it different for the fans? Am I going to do something that will help the company? These are the boxes I need to check. Who knows. I always leave everything open.”
While a match against Stratus remains a fantasy at the moment, Stratton has had no problem making a name for herself on the WWE main roster since being called up to SmackDown in February.
Stratton’s rapid rise, who she must face in a triple threat match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship Bayley And Naomi at Setback on Saturday, May 4th, was even “a little surprising” for her.
“I had a feeling this would happen one day,” she said Us. “But the fact that it happened so quickly definitely shocked me.”
Meteoric rise or not, Stratton explained that anyone who thinks she might just be a flash in the pan should prepare to be disappointed.
“I definitely see myself as a main event talent,” she boasted. “I see myself main eventing WrestleMania one day. I want to do this in the next 10 to 15 years. I am fully committed to this issue.”
WWE Setback from Lyon, France, can be streamed live on Peacock Saturday, May 4, at 1 p.m. ET.
