The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Sunday, May 5, announced the groups and schedule for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, scheduled to take place in Bangladesh in October. The upcoming mega event will be a 10-team event to be held in Bangladesh later this year.
India are in Group A alongside strong teams such as six-time champions Australia, Pakistan, New Zealand and a Women’s T20 World Cup qualifier finalist.
Group B consists of South Africa and England as well as the West Indies, the 2016 winners, the hosts Bangladesh and another finalist from the qualifiers for the ninth edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup.
Here are the groups for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024
Group A: Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Qualification 1
Group B: South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Qualifier 2
Meanwhile, each team will compete in four group stage matches in the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. The top two teams in each group advance to the semi-finals, scheduled for October 17th and 18th. The finale of the mega event will take place in Dhaka on October 20th.
A total of 23 games will be played in Dhaka and Sylhet over the course of 19 days next year Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. In addition, reserve days have been allocated for both the semi-finals and the final should this be necessary due to unforeseen circumstances.
On the other hand, the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup is scheduled to begin on October 3 in Dhaka. England will face South Africa in the opening match, while hosts Bangladesh will face one of the finalists in the Women’s T20 World Cup qualifiers on the same day, October 3.

Defending champions Australia begin their 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup campaign against one of the qualifying finalists in Sylhet on October 4. Meanwhile, India will begin the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 against New Zealand on October 4 in Sylhet.
The finalists for the Women’s T20 World Cup qualifiers will be determined on Sunday, May 5. Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates, Ireland and Scotland will face each other in the semi-finals of the ongoing qualifiers. Notably, the Indian women’s cricket team will play three T20Is against South Africa on July 5, 7 and 9 ahead of the upcoming 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup in Bangladesh.
