Katy is leaving the show after seven seasons on the jury and there has been a lot of talk about who will replace her.
Some people think Jelly Roll should take Katy’s place, and he would certainly be a popular choice.
But one of Katy’s co-stars has a different idea about who should follow in her footsteps.
Could Taylor Swift replace Katy Perry?
According to the X account (formerly Twitter). Humming popLionel Richie has suggested that Taylor Swift would be an ideal candidate for the job.
“By the way, Taylor, if you’re available, we’d like to have you out here. Call me!” Richie reportedly remarked.
Richie seems to be aware that he’s aiming for the fences here.
But is there any chance Taylor would actually consider taking the job?
Well we wouldn’t get your hopes up, idol fans.
Taylor is the biggest thing in music these days, and it seems very unlikely that she’ll take time off from her busy touring and recording schedule for a TV appearance.
idol isn’t as big as it once was, and even in the show’s heyday, the judges were never A-listers at the height of their fame.
Don’t get us wrong – Katy Perry is still a big deal in the music world.
But she’s no Taylor Swift.
Of course, Katy and Taylor used to be rivals, but they’ve managed to put all that behind them.
Today, Taylor is arguably the most famous person in the world. Therefore, putting aside her current momentum to appear as a judge on a TV talent competition is probably not possible.

At the moment, Taylor is still busy with her worldwide Eras tour.
And of course their new album, The Tortured Poets DepartmentShe’s still causing a stir and sparking fan theories on social media.
And then there’s Taylor’s relationship with Travis Kelce, which is still the most obsessed celebrity romance in recent memory.
In other words, Taylor has a lot on her plate and she probably has no intention of switching gears any time soon.
