Why Kris Jenner Says She’ll Never Retire

Retirement is a foreign concept for mom Kris Jenner.

In this week’s episode of SiriusXM’s This life of mine with James Cordenhost James Corden asked Kris if she would ever retire from work.

“No,” she revealed.

The reality star made it clear that she has no desire or plans to slow down any time soon, pointing out that she inherited this trait from her mother, Mary Jo Campbell.

“My mother retired at 82, and when we’re together she talks about her job every day and says to me, ‘Oh, my job kept me young, purposeful and joyful,'” she said.

While mere motherhood has undoubtedly provided 68-year-old Kris with meaning and joy, leading her daughters has instilled skills that are on a whole different level.

“It gives you all kinds of qualities in your life,” Kris said. “It’s about finding solutions to things. It’s your organizational skills. It’s your social skills. It is the love of life. It’s about going somewhere, getting up, dressing, presenting yourself to the world in a certain way, and interacting with the people you love.

These problem-solving skills come into play especially when Kris has to act as a mediator when her daughters – Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kendall Jenner And Kylie Jenner — battle.

“It’s hard because, listen, the last little fight Kourtney and Kim had wasn’t at all about jealousy or not wanting to make each other feel better,” Kris explained of her daughters’ latest feud. “Thank God that was never the problem and they are always there for each other and want the best for each other. I’m so proud of that, but I think one of them just thought the other was going to do a business relationship.” That was just being set up and it was a business thing and I’m the one who puts the deals together and that can be very sensitive be.”

Furthermore, it can be difficult for Kris to navigate such arguments because it is difficult to please everyone.

“When you don’t think about how someone else is going to feel, you assume, ‘Oh, that person is going to do great with this,’ so it was a little interesting navigating the whole thing,” she said. “Sometimes I just have to have days because it gets really intense when I just say, ‘I know Kourtney, can you believe that?’ And then you talk to Kim and say, “Kim, I know Kourtney’s crazy.” You know? I was trying to make everyone feel good and I was like, ‘Oh, we just have to get through this and make it okay for everyone.'”

Kris’ meeting with Corden came after a recent discovery of a tumor.

“I had my scan. They found a cyst and a small tumor,” Kris tearfully revealed to her daughters Khloe, Kendall and Kylie in a new trailer for season five while sitting next to her boyfriend Corey Gamble The Kardashians.

Even though Kris struggles with health issues privately, she doesn’t seem to let anything stop her from publicly supporting her children.

Season 5 of The Kardashians Premieres Thursday, May 23 on Hulu.
