Speaking to ET’s Rachel Smith from the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Erivo shared the inspiration for her stunning outfit, saying it was “almost like you’re walking through the garden and all the petals are falling.”
She added, “We have critters and bugs all over my nails, and it’s kind of like time’s way of serving the earth and the flowers and all that.”
“I’m so proud of her. I’m really, really, really proud of her,” Erivo told ET about Grande. “I’m proud of both of us together.”
As the two actresses prepare for the release of their highly anticipated film on November 27, Erivo said she is looking forward to viewers “the relationship that these two women have.” Erivo and Grande play Elphaba and Galinda, respectively.
