usher‘s teenage son Naviyd bonded with his ‘favorite artist’ PinkPantheress in a sneaky – yet effective – way.

Usher, 45, shared a “quick storytime” via his Instagram Stories on Thursday, April 25, about how Naviyd, 15, stole his phone “about a week or so ago” to DM PinkPantheress, 23, and he shared screenshots of these messages.

“Hello, this is Usher’s son Naviyd. I am you [sic] “Truly biggest fan please follow me back,” the teen wrote, adding his Instagram handle.

Usher became aware of the incident after PinkPantheress replied, “This is wild” and he didn’t recognize her account. However, he was still interested in making his son happy and accepted PinkPantheress’s offer when she wrote, “I would like to see you all at the next show.”

Fans may know Usher from his singing career, but the longtime musician is also a loving father. The singer made his musical debut in the 1990s and has since become an absolute success story. He even started a residency in Las Vegas in 2022 and performed at Super Bowl LVIII in 2024. That could be Usher […]

Usher reached out once again to show his appreciation for the aspiring artist, writing, “My son is with you [sic] show tonight. Given his dedication and creativity, I had to send him. Figuring out how to get attention by stealing my phone…that’s dedication. Hopefully you’ll be able to link.”

Naviyd seemed to have an incredible time at PinkPantheress’ show and got to know the artist, as evidenced by the Instagram photos he posted on April 21, which included a screenshot of PinkPantheress FaceTiming with Usher.

After sharing the full scoop of what happened, Usher wrote his “parenting memories” via his Instagram Stories.

“This was a great moment for Naviyd… this was a time when he dedicated himself to a cause that was close to his heart,” Usher wrote. “Yeah…he betrayed my trust in that and that’s why I’ll never trust him around my phone, but I should have known better.”

He continued: “Still, I appreciate the hustle and his work [it] happen. From a text to a concert to the artist. He planned the whole thing and made it possible.”

Usher shares Naviyd and his brother, Usher “Cinco” V, 16, with his ex-wife, Tameka Fosteras well as daughter Sovereign Bo, 3, and son Sire Castrello, 2, with his wife, Jenn Goicoechea.

Although his music career has taken off in recent years, including a stint in Las Vegas and an appearance at Super Bowl LVIII, Usher’s main focus is being a “present” father in his children’s lives.

“Presence is key. “As a father, I make sure that I am always there for my children while also being committed to the cause that ignited my passion at a young age,” said the singer Ebony in November 2023. “I hope it is an inspiration for my children. I have this dynamic that works for me. My work allows me to spend a lot of time with my children while doing what I love to do. But this balance is not easy.”
