Mumbai Indians (MI) recorded a convincing victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 55th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 in Wankhede on Monday, May 6th. The victory was anchored by a sensational century from Suryakumar Yadav.
Sunrisers Hyderabad Innings:
SRH set a target of 173/8 after 20 overs. Travis Head led the scoring with a dynamic 48 from 30 balls, including seven fours and a six. Contributions also came from Pat Cummins who ended up adding a quick 35 from 17 balls. Above all, the regular wickets of the Mumbai bowlers Hardik Pandya (31.03.) and Piyush Chawla (3/33) kept the innings under control.
Mumbai Indians Chase:
The chase was dominated by an outstanding innings from Suryakumar, who scored 102 runs off just 51 balls. His innings included 12 fours and 6 sixes, which helped MI reach their target comfortably at 174/3 with 16 balls remaining. Tilak Varma well supported with a consistent 37 from 32 balls.
Hyderabad’s bowlers struggled to penetrate Mumbai’s batting line-up. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Marco Jansen and Cummins took a wicket each, but that was not enough to defend their total against Suryakumar’s attack.
