In a pulsating match 52 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) And Gujarat Titans (GT), cricket fans were treated to a spectacle of powerful, nerve-wracking turns and sensational displays of skill. In the end, RCB emerged victorious as they suffered a GT defeat by four wickets at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday (May 4).

Led by Shubman Gill, GT chose to bat first after winning the toss, setting the stage for an intense battle at the crease. GT’s innings got off to a shaky start as they lost early wickets to RCB’s relentless bowling attack. Wriddhiman Saha and Gill departed cheaply, courtesy of Mohammed Sirajis a fiery spell that puts GT on the defensive from the start.
GT’s setback: Middle-order resilience and Rahul Tewatia’s brilliance
Despite the initial setbacks, the middle order showed resilience Shah Rukh Khan And David Miller stabilized the ship with a calm but aggressive beating. As the innings progressed, GT gained momentum with explosive hitting Rahul Tewatia (35), whose bold stroke play increased the team’s total score. However, RCB’s bowlers, led by Siraj and Yash Dayal, struck at crucial points and restricted GT to a challenging but achievable target of 148 runs.

RCB’s dominant batting performance: Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis shine
In pursuit of the target, RCB’s batting power was firing on all cylinders. Virat Kohli set the tone with a lofty rap, displaying his characteristic finesse and aggression. However, it was like that Faf you Plessis who stole the show with a stunning innings of 64 runs in just 23 balls and showed a masterclass in power hitting as he battered the GT bowlers to all parts of the ground.
Dinesh Karthik’s confident finish seals victory for RCB
Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, RCB maintained the required run rate thanks to Du Plessis’ attack. As GT’s bowlers tightened the screws in the latter stages of the innings, the game hung in the balance. However, Dinesh Karthik Showing nerves of steel, they led RCB over the finish line with a balanced innings of 21 runs off 12 balls under pressure.
GT’s bowlers, led by Joshua Little And Noor Ahmed, showed commendable skill and determination in defending the goal. However, RCB’s relentless pursuit of victory proved insurmountable as they clinched a thrilling win with two balls remaining, much to the delight of their fans.
